ASEAN is a regional association in South East of Asia with ten countries as the member (Brunei Darussalam, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam). Founded in Bangkok, Thailand, on 8 August 1967, now this association transforms become one of the most successful inter-governmental organization in developing world today.

The aims and purposes from the association is to build regional cooperation among the countries in South East Asia especially in economic, social, culture, educational and other fields, and in promotion of regional peace and stability through abiding respect for justice and the rule of law and adherence to the principles of The United Nation Charter.

The total area of the region is 4,479,210.5 km with estimate population more then 602,658,000 people which is 8,8 percents from world’s population. With nominal GDP US$3,909 per capita per year in 2011, ASEAN as single entity become eight largest economic in the world.

South East Asia is rich by nature, biodiversity, and socio-culture. Most of ASEAN countries located in the plains of Indo China, while the rest are in the islands. These make South East Asia interesting to explore.

Towards ASEAN Community in 2015, the countries agreed to give free visa for ASEAN citizens to increase intra-ASEAN travel in the region. And yes, huge intra-travel occurred in this area after since.

The organization also agreed to prepare One ASEAN single entry in 2015 for foreigner who would like to travel in countries in South East Asia. Certain number of tourists predicted will increase along with the development of low-cost carrier in the region of South East Asia.
